Grants Available for Purchasing a Home
What grants are available to single mother, student, and contract employees that are first time home buyers wanting to purchase in 2009?
OHFA grants are a good possibilty depending on when federal money, if available, becomes available. The location of property and the buyers income are usually the qualifiers and not the type of job or how many children you have. Most usually, if you can qualify for a mortgage and your income is under a specific amount you will qualify for certain first time buyer assistance programs that will help with your closing costs and your down payment (usually up to $3000 or $6000.) However, you must make certain that the home is in the area that qualifies for these programs. For more information, go to http://www.ohfa.org/OHFAAdvantage/homebuyers.htm.
